The “charging handle” is ALSO known as a “Bolt handle”. and its Actual name is the “Cocking handle”. Nobody says the handle part, so it comes out as, “pull the charge/bolt/cock” most people don’t call it a Cock as they fear the responses from their allies, and most also don’t call it a charge, as a charge is generally an explosive.
